It was really nice to see so many elected officials at the hearing today. Standing up for the little guys, as usual. At every level of government, our elected officials are useless, self serving and corrupt.
I, too, am sorry you feel that way. I do indeed have a day job, and I was in Chicago on business on Thursday, so I couldn’t make it. In fact, I can’t make many, if any, 10 a.m. meetings on weekdays, and I honestly think it’s unfair to expect that. Keep in mind that aldermen make less than $7,000 a year in South Milwaukee. Not that I’m advocating for a full-time council, but I have to support my family first. And that means respecting my full-time employer. That said, I have worked hard, and will continue to work hard, to stay educated on this issue and keep residents informed.
I’m sorry you feel that way. I was there as was Alderman Karbowski. Some of the Aldermen work day jobs and some had other commitments.
That is my point!! A public meeting of this importance held at 10:00 a.m, on a Thursday morning is ridiculous.
The PSC set the hearing date and time.
