Taking a Few Days Off From Blogging … and Happy Memorial Day

I’ll be taking the holiday weekend off from blogging and returning next week.

In the meantime, have a safe and happy Memorial Day and keep our fallen military heroes in your prayers.

Thanks for reading! I hope you like what you see here. If you do, please tell your family and friends.

And don’t forget about the Memorial Day parade starting at 10 a.m. on Monday. The parade, which is put on by the South Milwaukee Veterans Council, starts at Divine Mercy (St. Mary’s) on 13th Avenue and continues to Veterans Memorial Park on 10th Avenue near Rawson.

  1. Thanks to all those who can out to enjoy the parade! The Mayor, Alderman, State Representative Mark Honadel, County Supervisor Pat Jursik the Fire and Police Department, and former State Senator Jeff Plale.

Just wondering where State Senator Chris Larson was? He does respresent South Milwaukee (I have not see Chris in South Milwaukee for any event, if you did see him attend an event please let me know so that I can be corrected)

  2. Good point. He was at the South Shore economic development forum a few months back at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center … but that’s the only time I’ve seen him here. Let’s get him to the Downtown Market!

He was seen in parades in Illinois!

  4. Indeed, it’s a concern I raised when Jeff Plale lost in the primary: How visible would Chris Larson be in South Milwaukee? It’s still early, so I’m withholding judgment at this point. But I make this point: The 7th Senate District is an odd one, with various constituencies, urban suburban. How many times did Plale get to the East Side, for instance? I don’t know, but I’m betting not much.
