More Honors For A Popular South Milwaukee Children’s Book Author And Other Headlines

South Milwaukee children’s book author Janet Halfmann recently took home a prestigious award for her picture book “Fur and Feathers” — the same honor she won for her previous book, “Little Skink’s Tail.”

And the honors don’t stop there for this author whose books are proudly part of the Brooks family bookshelf.

The “:Larson” report is a “farce”. Nothing constructive…just whining about the Republicans. I don’t feel it is worth reading or posting.

  2. Guys: I understand what you’re saying. It’s too hyper-partisan for my tastes as well, but it’s still a publication by our local state senator, and I think it’s important to share (without passing judgment on it). I try to share all press releases, newsletters and other publications from our elected officials, when I know about them, Democrat or Republican. I also try to link to most news stories where our elected officials are quoted. I report, you decide 🙂

You should not waste your time with his releases! Did he meet with you over coffee to give you a copy of the “Blue Book”???….

  3. Rick: I actually did have lunch at Azteca with Sen. Larson last week, and I was impressed with his commitment to getting to know our community more and working closely with residents on issues. In fact, he had six or so staffers with him that day, and they were knocking on doors across the city introducing themselves and doing a survey. Sen. Larson also been showing at more community events lately, including the Commissioners’ Banquet a couple weeks ago. The senator knows he has some work to do in this area, and he’s doing it. While you obviously don’t agree with his politics, I hope you at least respect that. Similarly, I don’t agree politically with Rep. Honadel much, either, but I still greatly respect his work on behalf of the citizens of this city. Sen. Larson can learn from him in that regard, and I think he is. (By the way, The Blue Book was from both Larson and Honadel, and it was in my box at City Hall.)

  4. Thanks so much for the shout-out about my award for “Fur and Feathers.” So happy my books are on your family’s bookshelf. Happy Reading to All!
