The hearing starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall, where you have a chance to share your thoughts on the proposed 2013 city budget.
The South Milwaukee City Council will vote on the budget at its meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Check out my previous post for more details on what’s being considered. Here is the notice.

How did the meeting go? Were there any concerns brought to you by citizens you can share with us? Sometimes I wish the public meetings would be videotaped so those of us who can’t make the meetings can at least watch what happened during the meetings. Is there any chance of getting them videotaped sometime in the near future? mwalsh9899@yahoo.com
Also…I did notice the budget for the aldermen went up around $8000 from 2010 to now…any reason for the noted increase? mwalsh9899@yahoo.com
Monica: I’m not sure. We received a pay raise starting in 2010 (none since, with no plans for one), and since then we have had a couple short- to medium term vacancies on the council, with the early retirement of one alderman (Mike McCarthy) and the untimely death of another (Mike Karbowski). We have had eight aldermen (and have been paying eight aldermen) for a while now, so that’s likely some of the difference.
