Got Milk? South Milwaukee Schools Do

Update: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has a photo of milk being delivered to Rawson Elementary in its story.

In light of the closure of the Golden Guerney dairy, I posed that question to South Milwaukee Superintendent Rita Olson, and here is how she responded …

The milk we use is produced by Golden Guernsey. Our supplier is Mapleton Dairy, and they were able to supply us with Kemps milk today and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.  A few nutrition breaks were unable to use milk today because the shipment arrived a little later in the morning than usual. They used juice instead, but we had milk in time for lunches. The differences:

  • No strawberry.
  • Milk will not come in the chug plastic bottle, but will instead be in the traditional cartons currently used at the middle and high schools.

Thanks to Dr. Olson for the information.
