Another victim wired $850 to a caller from Peru to get her grandchild out of jail. The third victim was told she had to pay $100 to take care of a warrant for her arrest, but she did not pay.
A man was arrested at his residence in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue after he and his girlfriend were seen from the street arguing and dueling with swords in their living room at around 1:30 a.m. Feb. 24. The man was taken into custody because he was the first to arm himself and because he had his sword unsheathed while his girlfriend kept her sword in its scabbard.
