Cudahy police have a suspect in custody and are searching for a second suspect Thursday morning after a shooting overnight in the 5700 block of S. Packard Ave.
Although police are still investigating, the area of S. Packard Ave. between S. Whitall Ave. and E. Ramsey Ave. reopened about 7:45 a.m. Thursday after it was blocked off late Wednesday.
One person was injured in the shooting, which occurred about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect in custody is not necessarily the shooter, police told reporters during a morning briefing.
Cudahy police and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office are systematically searching two 32-unit apartment buildings on S. Packard Ave., looking for witnesses and the second suspect.
