Check out these South Shore headlines, including a disturbing case out of Racine involving a South Milwaukee woman …
- Fashion Model Ex-Girlfriend Facing Six Felonies (WDJT)
- Assembly Candidates Have Firsthand Knowledge Of Debt (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
- Oak Creek Teachers Train For Tragedy (WTMJ Radio)
And there is this follow-up story from the Business Journal on the news last week that Cat is moving a small amount of work from Texas to South Milwaukee. It includes this line …
“We’re going to evaluate the manpower needs of that production shift,” Potts told The Business Journal. “The company has taken many actions to align our costs with the environment we’re in currently…While we’ve done much already, we’re not finished and expect to take deeper actions to improve our cost structure and balance sheet.”
In other words, more to come. And that’s scary news for South Milwaukee.

The Racine article was disturbing, but I think Assembly Candidates Have Firsthand Knowlegde of Debt is even more disturbing. The article did state that Rodriguez’s situation was due to high unexpected medical bills. It sounds like she at least took a proactive approach by declaring bankruptcy (I hope to never be in a situation where I’m considering bankruptcy, but I understand it’s there as a protection.) I’d like to know what caused Coppola to not pay credit card debt to be sued more than once AND rent enough to get evicted.
How can political leaders be counted on to make fiscal decisions that affect large numbers of people potentially over long periods of time when they can’t manage their own personal finances?
Frankly, as a Coppola supporter, I don’t care about her credit card debt. Nor do I give a damn about Rodriguez’s bankruptcy. I care about their positions on issues like education and the environment, but there wasn’t a word about that.
