Bucyrus Deal Complete … And There Will Be No More “Bucyrus”

Update: Here is the Journal Sentinel story.

So reports The Business Journal. Check out the story here.

The end of the “Bucyrus” name is disappionting, especially because Caterpillar indicated previously that it planned to keep it. Bucyrus is a name that has defined South Milwaukee’s history, and it won’t be a part of the future.

In that way, it’s a sad day.

I’ll post more on this soon. And please post your comments below!

Just wait until they will want to close down South Milwaukee location and move…

This is CAT we are talking about, look what they stated and then they did the other:

“The end of the “Bucyrus” name is disappionting, especially because Caterpillar indicated previously that it planned to keep it.”

So what “will” South Milwaukee do incase they do leave?

South Milwaukee needs to plan ahead for the worst case scenario now instead of waiting for the last minute. Just because CAT sits in a TIF District doesn’t mean anything to them. If they want to move, they’ll move and take the slap on the wrist penalty

*Bucyrus* was the only thing keeping the city going and with a possible threat of CAT moving operations out of the area, Pick N’ Save and other business’s wouldn’t be able to keep the city a float. Raising taxes and fee’s but reducing service’s won’t help city either.

“Proud Past, Promising Future” is the motto right?
Now will be the time to follow through on it.

I thought we were promised that the Bucyrus name was staying? Sounds like a Senate candidate to me….

Just drove by the main gate on Milwaukee Ave. and the monument sign is changed to CAT, along with a banner hung over the gate.
