Update: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel spoke with a poll worker at Divine Mercy School in this article

At Divine Mercy School in South Milwaukee, chief Jean Ruka said there were many absentee ballots and an influx of new voters.

“Many new registrations, which is good,” Ruka said. “People who have never voted before, some of them over 40 (years old) which was impressive that they finally found a reason to vote.”

Ruka said she thought voters were better informed than usual this year and were coming in with the required documents.

I went this morning before work. There were maybe 4 people in line-I was in and out in 5 minutes! Very well organized and looked well staffed. Thank you to all the poll workers and those behind the scenes!

Voted in Oak Creek District 6 this morning. I was in and out as I’m registered. Appeared to be long line of non-registered voters, though. Surprising with 25% of Oak Creek votes reportedly voting early.

I found my poll to be very well organized. I arrived at Divine Mercy at 6:45am – there were 50 people in line. The line went quick and efficiently. It was well staffed and I was in and out within 5 minutes. The Divine Mercy Bake Sale lured me to buy two plates of cookies. No complaints here.

I noticed a couple of Illinois plated cars in the parking lot at Divine Mercy. 15 non-registered people stood in line. There was a gentelman who showed his ID, and made mistakes on his ballot and had to start over.

    • My experience at Rawson Elementary this morning was very good. It wasn’t too crowded — I waited in line a few minutes before signing the poll book and getting handed a ballot. In an out in less than 10 minutes. Well organized — and that’s a credit the preparations of our clerk’s office.
