Open Thread: What Are You Thankful For?

Barring some big breaking news, I’ll be taking a couple days off of blogging for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I hope it is a blessed day for you and your family. I know it will be for ours.

And I ask: What are you thankful for? Post your comments below!

I tried to post a comment, Erik, but for some reason can’t w/o logging in and providing a password. I don ‘t recall having to do that in the past and since I maintain a WordPress blog, I don’t want to screw up anything w/that. So here’s the comment I tried to post. If you can and want to post it for me, fine.

So much, but I want to specifically mention these two things: 1) The Rotary Club of Mitchell Field, which does so much in the service of others, both locally in the communities of South Milwaukee, St. Francis, Cudahy, Oak Creek, Bay View and Franklin, which it represents, and internationally in contributing to water projects in un- and under-developed countries, and in the worldwide eradication of polio. An annual local project is providing Thanksgiving dinners to shut-ins and economically disadvantaged. This year, the club with a membership of less than 20 provided dinners for 55 families. 2) A city Alderman who works so hard for the city and his constituents and keeps South Milwaukee residents informed by maintaining this blog. Thank you, Alderman Brooks.

Okay…since I’m reading this for the first time on the 11/27 I’m not going give a corny answer about how I’m thankful for my family..blah…blah…besides that should go without saying. I guess looking forward I’m thankful that all the alderpersons will be up for re-election this coming spring. I hope citizens remember which alderpersons have been listening to them and speaking the truth…and which alderpersons are not deserving of another term…especially in district 3. I am hoping there will be people running against each incumbent. Maybe some who reads this blog might want to run?? That would be a great topic to discuss…Erik. mwalsh9899@yahoo.com
