Jursik: Clarke “Must Not Be Permitted To Bully The Executive, Bully The Board, And Bully The Taxpayer”

South Shore County Supevisor Pat Jursik has weighed in on recent comments from Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke criticizing County Executive Chris Abele and Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn.

Oh, has she ever weighed in.

From the press release, in which she also speaks out against Clarke’s running of the House of Correction …

Sheriff Clarke’s recent comments have hit a new low. While my office has had policy disagreements with the County Executive, these disagreements have always been at the policy level, never about personalities. Unfortunately Sheriff Clarke has reduced himself to only a personality. He refuses to engage in real discussion much less cooperation with departments.

Clarke’s recent remarks regarding the County Executive and now the City of Milwaukee Police Chief are below the belt, but also entirely out of line for an elected official. If anyone owes an apology, it is the Sheriff for his comments last week regarding the County Executive. …

The Sheriff must not be permitted to bully the Executive, bully the Board, and bully the taxpayer. Bullies do not get to win because they are better at name-calling.

I encourage you to read the whole press release, and post your comments below!

As always, pat is a class act. We are lucky to have her represent us.

One of the inherent rights of being an American is the liberty of expressing one’s opinions. While we may disagree with other’s opinions, as Americans we should at least consider respecting the opinions of others that we disagree with; just as we would expect that those who disagree with our opinions would respect would at least respect them. America is changing at an alarming rate and I believe it’s because there are those Americans who refuse to respect other’s opinions and will go to any lengths to disagree, even breaching and dishonoring standard decorum and protocol; much like those elected officials who made an unfortunate decision a couple of years ago; where did it get them? However there is an interesting phenomenon here, the same Americans who vehemently refuse to respect other’s opinions are the same Americans who will go to any lengths to foster their opinions/agenda, even enforcing it…..just saying.

More often than not Supervisor Jursik toes the liberal line and here she is back with the politically correct charged term: bully. While I don’t always agree with the way Sheriff Clark goes about presenting his views, it is refreshing to see someone who doesn’t dance around the truth and says what he means – not what someone wants to hear. We need more no-nonsense and less pussy-footing. Who’s really bullying the taxpayers are the supervisors that can’t seem to find the will to cut the number of members on the county board and the cushy pay and benefits they have for essentially part-time jobs. Oh, and don’t get me started on the stupid trolley in the CITY of Milwaukee that they want the rest of the county to pay for.

I’m a taxpayer and I don’t feel bullied at all. Yup, Clark tells it like it is.

Appears to be three to one in favor of Sheriff Clark. Remember we still need to respect other’s opinions!

Sheriff Clark still has the lead!

Yes, We do need to have common sense in terms of respecting others opinions. What was Ms. Jursik’s purpose in placing her opinion in the press release?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there are those Americans who will disagree with another American’s opinion and will go to great lengths to discredit the opinions they disagree with. As I also mentioned earlier, that as Americans we have the inherent right or should have the inherent right to an opinion. Sheriff Clark has an opinion and is calling it the way he sees it. There are many citizens in the county of Milwaukee that look at Sheriff Clark as standing up for what he believes in and there are many citizens who agree with him. There will always be those Americans who will whine and complain when they don’t agree with you and they will whine and complain even louder when you disagree with them. One can only assume that Ms. Jursik needed a platform to weigh in her opposing opinion. I hope that answers your question sm ok,
