Saturday is one of my favorite days of the year: South Milwaukee Little League Opening Day.
The festivities start with a parade at noon. It leaves from 12th Milwaukee, heads east on Milwaukee to Ninth, then south to Drexel, then east into Little League Park.
Brief opening day ceremonies follow. Then there’s a full slate of games.

Please line the parade route and cheer on the kids — including my AAA boy! — and then stop by for some great baseball and fun.
We should cherish Little League in this community … it’s an important part of the fabric of this city. And Saturday is one of those special traditions that we should all embrace in South Milwaukee.
