The South Milwaukee Lions Club showed their community support yet again recently – with their checkbook.
The Lions, at their Oct. 22 meeting, announced donations of $30,360 to more than a dozen local organizations at their annual Parade of Checks ceremony.
The contributions include:
- $1,500 to the South Milwaukee Police Auxiliary
- $550 to the South Milwaukee Little League
- $500 to the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center
- $500 to the South Milwaukee Heritage Parade
- $500 to the Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program
- $500 to the South Milwaukee High School post-prom event
- $500 to Interfaith
