I couldn’t agree more!!! It’s going to look great!
Sure it looks great but it doesn’t look like a million bucks…the cost of the LED lights for the bridge!
I think spending 1/300th the cost of the overall project on a feature that will enhance the bridge’s status as one of the region’s most iconic landmarks is a worthy investment. We have one chance in the next 40 years to do this right, and, to me, this is part of it.
Regardless of the percentage of the project, it is still a million dollars of tax money.
There was a followup report last night on FOX6 where John Jagler (Senator or Assemblyman??) indicated that his district has a dangerous intersection which needs to be reconstructed at a tune of $1,000,000, the same as what is being spent on the LED lighting. The State told him there is no money for the fix. He is introducing a bill to block the LED lighting and allocate those funds for a project(s) that are necessary to save lives….Christine Sinicki was also interviewed and when the topic of Jagler’s road reconstruction was brought up in the interview, she basically said the LED lighting was important and the project deserved it….Go Figure!!!!
