Downtown Greendale is terrific — and one of the must-stops, at least for the Brooks family, is Ferch’s Malt Shoppe & Grille.
Now comes word that the owner is looking at opening a seasonal location at Grant Park beach. That’s according to the Milwaukee Business Journal, which also has more information on the restaurant’s desire to expand in Greendale.
Let’s hope this comes to pass … I’ll keep you posted.

That would be fantastic!
I’d be for it! Hopefully it becomes a reality and they do well there.
GPB is the the winning opportunity for South Milwaukee! Get onboard.
The beach road is in terrible shape, I hope Ferch’s negotiates a new road to the beach in this deal. In the summer, parking is a big challenge at the GPB. Families come for the entire day and take up parking, so the quick ice cream and food purchases won’t happen unless the parking situation is changed. Possibly posted time limits could be put on certain areas of the lot (but who is going to police that?). I would probably park at the SM Yacht club road and walk over the bridge to the beach house.
Ferch’s is a really neat business. If you have never been there before, I suggest you try it.
What ever happened to Ferch’s coming to Grant Park? I’m assuming that deal fell through? I was looking forward to it.
It’s not looking good, unfortunately, but I’m doing what I can to help bring this new life to the beach. Stay tuned.
