The South Milwaukee Historical Society has published a book of letters written by four local soldiers to Marietta Rawson.
The book, “Letters to Mettie,” is available for sale by sending a $10 check to Mettie Book, South Milwaukee Historical Society, 717 Milwaukee Ave., South Milwaukee. Checks can be made out to the society. Call 520-1959 for more information.
Books can also be purchased during normal society hours: the first Thursday of each month, 1 to 3 p.m. The authors and researchers behind the book will also be giving a book talk on Wednesday, May 21, at the South Milwaukee Library. Start time is 6:30 p.m.
