Drafting of the Oak Creek watershed restoration plan is underway, and we’d like your feedback on some of the early work, as we continue on this journey to revitalize and reinvigorate this waterway.
From the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission …
We have scheduled an Stakeholder meeting for Thursday, December 13, 2018, in South Milwaukee. The intent of this meeting is to present Plan draft Chapter 1 (Introduction), Chapter 2 (Prior and Ongoing Studies, Plans, Projects, and Programs), and Chapter 3 (Characterization of the Watershed). Draft chapters are available for review on the project website.
Beverage and light supper will be available.
Please register for the meeting using the link here.
The meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., will held at City Hall, 2424 15th Ave.
Really, December 13th? In the middle of the holidays, in 20 degree weather? When peoples minds are on staying in a warm house and not thinking about enjoying the outdoors, they schedule the meeting. Why wasn’t it scheduled in the summer when people would have fresh perspective on the watershed?
There will be more meetings, as more chapters are completed and reviewed. If we waited until summer to meet, that would add time to the rollout of the plan, and it’s already been delayed. We need to keep momentum going, and this is a good start.
