In the past few weeks, I’ve had the honor of being a small part of the retirement ceremonies for South Milwaukee Police Capt. Jill Kallay and South Milwaukee Fire Department Capt. Brad Sibley, as well as the promotion ceremony for SMPD Capt. Dan Fournier and Lt. Dave Hoeppner.
Here are my Facebook posts from each one. Thanks for your service to our city, and all you do to keep us safe!
On this day when so many firefighters paid the ultimate price 19 years ago, I was proud to help say farewell to South Milwaukee Fire Department Captain Brad Sibley, as he retires. We were blessed to have him finish his career in our city, and I wish him nothing but the best. Thanks, Captain Sibley, and all of our first responders, for what you do to keep us safe. I will never take that for granted.
Congratulations to South Milwaukee Police Department Captain Jill Kallay on her retirement. Thank you for your 26 years of service to our community, a commitment to giving back that extends well beyond her role at the department. I was proud to help honor her today, and know she will will continue doing what she does best in the next chapter of her life: helping people.
Congratulations to newly promoted Captain Fournier and Lieutenant Hoeppner of the South Milwaukee Police Department. It was an honor to be a small part of their swearing-in ceremony today, and to recognize two gentlemen so committed to giving back to the community in which they work. It’s a blessing to have people who are ready and willing to advance their careers in all of our city departments — and a testament to the culture we are building.
