The results are in from Tuesday’s election, and turnout was high, as more than 23% of registered South Milwaukee voters came to the polls to weigh in on aldermanic, school board and other races.
The key local results …
- The South Milwaukee City Council will remain the same, with incumbents in the First (Frank Van Dusen III and Craig Maass) and Second Districts (R. Patrick Stoner and Ramon Navarro) retaining their seats in contested races.
- Incumbents in the other two districts (David Bartoshevich, Peggy Clark, Joe Bukowski and Lisa Pieper) did not face ballot competition.
- Also, challenger Jon Shelenske won the most votes in the South Milwaukee School Board race. Incumbent David Maass also won re-election, beating challenger Jeff Dess by just eight votes.
Alderpersons and school board members serve three-year terms.
Full results can be found on the city website.
I congratulate the winners and look forward to working with all of them to move South Milwaukee forward.
