South Milwaukee is becoming famous for our performing arts — consider this the latest example! From Tim Backes, a South Milwaukee resident in the group …
The theme for this concert is “The Four Loves,” inspired by a C.S. Lewis book that talked about the four types of love using the four different Greek words for love. All the songs then are based on these concepts of love.
Some of our credentials… The group was a finalist in Shepherd Express’s Best of Milwaukee awards in the category of Best Choral Group. We were selected by world famous composer Eric Whitacre to participate in a master class with him at St. Josaphat’s Basilica when he was in town with his choir last spring. And we also just recently announced we are collaborating with the Skylight Music Theater and Milwaukee Opera Theater to create/perform in an original opera at the Skylight theater in March 2019 based on Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
More information at www.chantclaire.org, and you can find recordings on their YouTube page. Also, the group was featured in this CBS 58 story last week.
